I have to aggree with your points on obtaining the drivers. I did install the chipset, it shows in device manager as a separate category. In comparing this machine to another that has not been reloaded I noticed that under system devices in Device manger that this problem machine does not list the Intel Management Engine Interface or the System Management Device that are included on the factory machine. And what drivers did you install, if any, and for what version of Windows? Windows 7 has reached end of retail sales so its harder to get a retail Windows 7 license. Dell Driver and Download Check consistently claims there are newer Driver to be installed.

This is your modem driver, so reinstall the modem from the CD that came with your computer. So if you’re using an Ethernet port to connect to the internet, you may commnuications even need to install drivers for the modem.

I contfoller have the resource disk and I can’t find it on the Dell site even though it says it should be under the chipset section for the drivers.

If I just disable them, will they really be disabled? If yes, what would those problems be? They can also sometimes download and install as part of initial install if connected to Internet the whole time.
